Troy, NY (CNN) — A Troy man who filmed a video of himself masturbating in a store in front the police department said he was told to stay in the store until the investigation was complete, CNN affiliate WKRC reported.
The man told the station that he was asked to stop the video before police could be arrested, and he said he complied.
“I don’t think I would have done anything different,” the man, identified only as James, told the affiliate.
“We had nothing to lose.
We were on the clock.”
A spokeswoman for the city of Troy said police did not have a complaint related to the video and that there was no indication of any type of sexual assault or harassment.

Troy Police Chief John J. Kelly said Thursday that there are no criminal charges pending against the officer.
Police have a departmentwide sexual misconduct unit that investigates allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct, Kelly said.
“The chief has instructed the unit to complete their investigation, which is underway,” Troy Police Lt.
James Eberly said.
Troy Mayor Matt Jones told WKSC that the video “is not going to be part of the investigation.”
“There’s no criminal prosecution for it,” Jones said.
WKSR also reported that the Troy City Council is meeting Thursday to discuss the police response to the case.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the police investigation, according to the station.

In the video, a man masturbates in front a woman wearing a red wig, a shirt with the words “Bikini” and “Facial Hair” printed on it.
The video begins with the man masturbating on the floor and the woman standing in the doorway.
The woman then enters the store and asks the man to stop.
The suspect then walks into the store to retrieve his items, according the video’s description.
The footage then cuts to the store’s front door.
The store is closed at the time.
In another part of his video, the man asks the woman, “What’s going on?” and then replies, “You want to see my penis?”
The woman responds, “Yes.”
The man continues to ask the woman questions about his sexuality.
“What does your religion teach you?” he asks.
“Islam,” she responds.
The videos were posted to Facebook on July 22.
The Troy Police department said it had no comment on the incident.
A spokesperson for the state Attorney General’s office said Thursday the state attorney general’s office was “reviewing the matter and taking appropriate action.”
“We cannot comment further,” a spokesperson said.
The state Attorney Generals office also declined to comment on Thursday.
WKRN reported that Troy police have been involved in sexual misconduct investigations before, but the officer involved in this case was the first to file charges.
“There have been no reports of sexual abuse by officers in the department or any other department,” Troy police said in a statement.
“Tyrannia is a safe and supportive community.
When officers feel threatened or intimidated, they will use appropriate force.”
